My Blue Moon Ice Cream Chronicles was also known as the Smurf Ice Cream because of its color Blue. However, in my era, The Smurfs were my favorite cartoon show. Hence the name, Smurf Ice Cream.

As we got a little bit older in age, this ice cream was also called Superman and Huckleberry too.

However, the consensus in the neighborhood was Smurf had a better vernacular sound to it as well. Plus, it was very easy to remember too.

If you grew up watching the Smurfs, then you already know why Blue Ice Cream was so popular. The Smurfs were fun, mythological characters that brought joy and peace to the world.

When kids on your block saw you with this blue ice cream, they went nuts.

They usually came running up to you with their Smurf action figures in there hand too.

All my brothers and sisters became so popular because you just could not buy this ice cream from the store.

If you lived in Michigan or to trips to Kings Island, these were the only places that you could purchased this ice cream. I know right. What a bummer.

My mom always made this from scratch.

This homemade ice cream recipe was duplicated for us as a reward for good behavior, academics in school, or completing all of your chores around the house.

COWABUNGA! Those were the good old days that being a kid was fun…LOL

You can bet your bottom dollar that I was the first in line for this blue Smurf ice cream. LOL!

What Flavor is Blue Moon Ice Cream?

It reminds me of Orange Blossom and pistachios ice cream mixed together.

It was the Omega of all ice creams in my household growing up as a kid.

I used to add crushed pistachios on top of my Smurf ice cream.

That’s right folks. I wanted to be different and creative at the same time.
